Dual-frequency and phase-inverse frequency converters

RELTEC has developed dual-frequency power source of induction melting plants IMP with sectioned inductor. Dual-frequency power source is complete on basis of phase-inverse dual-energy channel semi-conducting high frequency converter.

Frequency converter ППВЧ-80-66/8 with 80 kW power and 66/8 kHz is consisting of entrance straighter, two inverters build on powerful high frequency IGBT modules. Reactive power compensation of two sectional inductor is carried by a high frequency capacitor unit and a low frequency capacitor unit. Furnace with dual-frequency power source allows highly efficient remelting alloys for titanium alloys with a significant increase in the quality of the product due to electromagnetic stirring during the melting and deeper cleaning of gas impurities.
